How the Night Played Out
Lopes, Nickal, and Ruffy all finished inside two rounds on the prelims. The main card delivered on every thread it set up.
The zero is gone.Justin Gaethje, a 6-to-1 underdog, defeated Ilia Topuria by TKO (corner stoppage) at the end of Round 4, claiming the undisputed UFC lightweight title. Gaethje dropped Topuria with a right hand in R3, battered his face through R4, and Topuria’s corner pulled him before Round 5 could begin. Topuria’s record falls to 17-1. Gaethje finally has the undisputed belt after two interim title reigns.
History denied.Ciryl Gane defeated Alex Pereira by TKO in Round 2, stopping Pereira’s bid to become the first three-division UFC champion in history. Gane wins the interim heavyweight title.
Hokit arrives. Josh Hokit defeated Derrick Lewis by TKO at 4:09 of Round 2, backing up the hype with a dominant, athletic performance. The heavyweight picture just got a lot younger and more crowded.
